[TOP]...[/TOP]

Like the ad layout has its own layout, separated from the post would work like an announcement.

Very good use, if you want to give a short announcement, as it would stay on all pages.

Example:

- Img Of Funny Chats. Have you ever seen the first post which allows us to swear in the topic? Or atleast spoiler it?
- Users Graphic topics. Announcements.
- Event topics. When [TIMER=time]message[/TIMER] gets added.
- Polls. [top][poll=Do you like Cats?][NO][no][/top]

IMO it doesn't really make sense for this to be a tag, it has no relation with the actual content of the post which would sort of hide it (you wouldn't expect that to edit a section of the topic you would have to edit a random post inside it)

They mean (unless I misunderstood) that anything put inside the tag would be shown as a banner at the top of every page of the topic, similar to the ad banner.

well this also sneaks in timer and poll suggestions. IIRC we decided those would be best left to settings anyway. I agree, LukeM, these codes should match post content; anything larger should have some other relation (or none at all?)
