EE needs music

I want my levels to play music like a game soundtrack. The only way to implement it currently is to have a link on a sign, which is so cumbersome that nobody will ever do it.
What i'm imagining is a block that plays a music OST of choice or turns off the music.
Obviously this will never happen, but a man can dream right?

My dreams of bg music were crushed when atilla said the worlds don't have enough space to have music.
I'll still be waiting for that update...

Why would the music have to be stored on the EE servers. We don't store the video's and images that we post here on the forums, on the forum server, right?
You could just do something like maybe making a 'music block' and but the link for the MP3 in it.

(idk, if this is possible with flash but I think it will be in unity)

There should be a music block that allows you to choose what to play. It would be ideal if it integrated with YouTube. There could be a start playing and a stop playing block.

A block that could take a link from youtube and when someone goes by it would start to hear a song would be incredible and a block that could deactivate the song or start playing another song (youtube link) would also be great to make adventure worlds, with stories and quests, side quests, imagine listening to an adventure song while playing these worlds, would be perfect.

The problem with that is that you could play anything from youtube, not just music, which wouldnt be very good (theres no way to censor sound (well no way thats easy enough to be added to EE))

I think it would be the best and easiest to take songs from youtube like suggested, although i’d also like an MP3 player or similar which can play music from those sorts of files.
I actually already have an soundtrack of songs that i feel would fit perfectly for every part of my level mental degradation, which would also improve the experience tenfold. Hence why i’m itching so much for some sort of option to make custom songs play in my levels. I also have ideas for hotel horror etc... (But if music is added, please don’t limit it to pre-selected tracks... make it 100%

This kind of update would really add some flair to worlds, i often find myself playing games where you can add custom music, and if the song is good it will REALLY change the quality and feel of a level. Definitely something the devs should at least consider adding.

While I think that it'd be great to have the freedom to have any song from youtube, I don't trust that 80% of the userbase will have the maturity to not ruin it for everyone

Maybe go with new grounds then? Would make more sense anyway since they have a focus on songs / music.

ee coudl just take loads of songs form youtube which are actualy songs where players can choose from this way players dont choose somr sort of **** related sounds from YT

The staff could just take loads of songs from YouTube, (which are actually songs) and players can choose from what the staff picked. This will prevent vulgar songs from being in the game.

I really don’t want these kinds of limitations that people suggest, because many of the songs i would like to use are quite obscure and would definitely not be on any staff member approved "songlist"
It’s all custom or nothing as far as i see it.
