Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

If EE is remade (rEEboot), do you think slopes should be added?
Slopes would change EE forever, no question about it. Not only would it create unique jump situations, you also have to consider how much it could change momentum based gameplay. Now, you could always make it so you don't lose speed going uphill, or gain speed going downhill, but that wouldn't feel right. Now you have a lot of maps that uave slopes and hills, and are less blocky. While the gameplay possibilities would be amazing, do you feel it would take away from the games identity (The blockiness of it all)?

tbh i dont think the slopes should be added to EE,
to work properly, slopes would require a drastically different approach in physics engine, one that is much more flexible and accurate, introducing a proper player momentum, player bouncing and so on, which would in order make player controls/movement quite different/difficult

Smileys have square hitboxes. Assuming there's no collision trickery pulled off, any smiley on a slope would look as though it's floating.
10 years and still awkward. Keep it up, baby!

In the current physics, players' hitboxes are also square (way easier to calculate physics vs with a sphere). The square hitbox will become WAY too obvious with slopes, as you'd be continuously floating. Although this might be fixable by having an offset hitbox for the slope... Which would form a problem when adjacent to a normal block, however... Somewhat complex problem.
I feel like slopes could be introduced in the game, although without any fancy physics (like hitting it from the top at high velocity shooting you sideways).
That being said, if it were to be introduced, it very well should be included in the remake, and not the original game, as I feel like the added effort in the original wouldn't be worth it.
Edit: Visual explanation of fix and fix's problem when slope is adjacent to normal block. Obviously red is actual hitbox and black visual hitbox.

Good point, but I wonder if that can be worked around if the collision "box" of slopes could be offset to be within the tile, rather than the entire slope? That way the smiley would appear to slide up the slope, though the smiley hitbox would actually be slightly within the slope.
In fact.. I think it might already be doable? It appears that smileys actually have two hitboxes if I'm not mistaken. One that's used for blocks which uses the entire square the smiley is in, and another for hazards, which is why we're able to be within a spike or fire tile as long as more than half the smiley isn't in the hazard. This second hitbox also seems to apply towards gravity, boost arrows, portals, music tiles, and maybe some other things.

I do believe this second "hitbox" is no hitbox, but just a simple position check.
It the middle of the player in the special block (>50%)? Apply effect! Not really a "physics" check imo.

tbh they were made from the gam ebut toop cut them away orginaly they wouldve bene in domestick if i remebr corectly he ut them away due to bugs orso a nd made hal fblocks for domestcik
thanks hg for making this much better and ty for my avatar aswell

That's at a 45 dehree angled slope. If the slope took up two block spaces and were more gradual, the problem becomes not as noticable, however, still prevalent.
Edit: Peace means Domestic (a.k.a. home/house pack)

I'm not exactly sure how this would work, but making a collision box specific to the slopes themselves. Like normal collision is un-effected, but there is like a special collision box just for slopes. This would alleviate the need to make slope collision off

So, essentially, an escalator?
Yeah I mean escalator, btw look at my post again and I show you.

That has much less of a practical use. Perhaos if they actually looked like steps, it could work.... Now that I think about it, It'd be cool of there was a version of that that appeared in the background. That way you could have that look like actual stairways where stairs cross.

No slopes thanks.

1. remake ee
2. new physics engine

Yeah, just don't make ee physics even more dumb
Edit: after rEEboot, fine.

Remake the physics and in EE2 smileys will have round hitboxes.

I'm not certain what you're trying to highlight there.
Yes, as I mentioned in the original post, the offset hitbox would become a problem when adjacent to a full block.
Remake the physics and in EE2 smileys will have round hitboxes.
I do believe that will result in VERY clunky physics on corners. Not just physics "breaking", but it just not being nice to work with from a gameplay standpoint.

why don't we give them a rolypolly feature so they can roll with arms and legs
