HG's Music Selection

I made this topic to frequently talk about my music preferences, and post new music when it's released, so I can hopefully bring the community to this music world that I love.

I've been a fan of Electronic Dance Music since 2010. For long have I been dreaming of being part of the amazing EDM events hosted worldwide, such as the Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland when it's about classical 128 BPM big room and progressive house, and Qlimax and Defqon 1, when it's about a fast-paced emotional music genre made specifically to make you jump: Hardstyle. I'll forever be part of this world, even if just as a listener.

I can't say that I love a specific producer the most, because all the producers that I know have made spectacular tracks in the past that really influenced in my life, but if there's an important producer that I must mention, it is undoubtedly Hardwell, one of those who successfully permanently brought me to this world. Some of his tracks have helped me get past hard parts of my life. I'm a true supporter of him, he's made me even dream about becoming an EDM producer, a dream that I'll comply.

To show how much I support Hardwell, the first track of this music selection topic, will be a very old but still amazing track from the legend himself: Apollo with Amba Shepherd.

I listened to this track for the first time with one of my best friends from high-school, a girl who is 3 months older than me. Ever since then, we've been forever together with familiar and personal issues. We've been singing old tracks and talking about how beautiful the music was back then, as well as constantly help each other with school stuff. We've never gotten to be a couple, because it wasn't our thing, but we're still amazing friends, and we shall never leave other alone.

This track reminds me of all my cool moments in high-school with my group of music fans and friends. We would always talk about new music. They were more into the dubstep style, which I like too, but we all remember this beautiful track.

Today's first track is an emotive progressive house track released in 2014, on Revealed Recordings, my current favorite label. The track is The Universe by Marcus Schossow and Arston.

In fact, I haven't listened this track in one whole year, now that I remember. It feels great listening to this masterpiece again.

Today's second track is a striking euphoric hardstyle track released last year: Zombie by Ran-D, featuring the lyrics from the old but cool rock track by The Cranberries with the same name.

I'm not to compare this track with the original rock track, as rock isn't part of my tastes, but both are amazing tracks, and the hardstyle bootleg by Ran-D calls my attention a lot more. A lot of thanks to The Cranberries, specifically Dolores Mary O'Riordan, who sadly passed away 3 months ago, for such an amazing track of which, this hardstyle track wouldn't exist without.

Today's first track is a hardstyle banger released last year, by fabulous hardstyle producer Dr Phunk, and the legend Hardwell: Here Once Again. This track was released on the second volume of the Hardwell and Friends EP, and gives me memories from the last year's Ultra Miami show.

Even through the track has a lot of modern sounds, the melody gives me nostalgia. I love this track.

The track idea is original, and the melody is amazing, typical from trance tracks. A big room remix of this track also exists, done by Hardwell, and it's really cool too.

The second track is a really old, yet recently released hardstyle masterpiece by one of the artists that welcomed me to the hardstyle world: Luminosity, with Wildstylez, under the alias Project One.

This track could always be heard in Headhunter'z vlog intros. When I listened to it last year, I was so highly amazed to know my old favorite hardstyle artist came back to his roots, ever since 2014 when he left hardstyle and moved to big room. I love this masterpiece.

The day this track was released, I was away visiting a family member. This track just came to my playlist today, and it's fantastic, even through it's slow-paced. There's also a club mix which is fabulous too, reminds me of Armin's old trance sound.

I'm not a big fan of this kind of hardcore music, but this track called my attention a lot, perhaps because of it being from one of my favorite trance and big room duos: W&W. I'm in love with this track, and am now looking forward to more happy hardcore.

I've been sick the whole week, thus I've decided to take care of myself and my work, not this topic. However, a track was just released today, which I want to share with you. This is a big room banger premiered last year by my favorite artist, Hardwell: Earthquake featuring rebel lyrics from Harrison.

This track reminds me of the 2012-2013 big room sound, while having a lot of modern signature sounds. I've been waiting for this track since it's debut at Ahoy Buiten Rotterdam, and the Ultra Japan events, and am really glad it's finally out.

Today's track is the miraculous intro track of this year, from my favorite artist, my idol. Hardwell & Metropole Orkest - Conquerous.

I'm always excited by every intro track released by the legend himself. This was completely unexpected, and has already turned me on today. This is one of the best EDM tracks I've heard in my whole life.

Art Of Creation

This is a new hardstyle label founded by two hardstyle legends: Headhunterz and Wildstylez, with the objective of bringing a whole new striking hardstyle sound. This label already has 2 amazing EPs released from the founders themselves, and they have a phenomenal sound which for me, already beats the top labels like Scantraxx, Hard With Style and Dirty Workz.

This is a really nice track - going straight into my cycling playlist.

Similar to you, I've always wanted to produce music, but I haven't really invested much time into learning the ins and outs of music production in a DAW, and there are a lot of intricate aspects that require a lot of time to understand. Regardless, I might try at some point, and would be interested to see what you make.

The most similar I've heard to medieval music, is epic music frequently played on movies. The only epic music band that I know is Two Steps From Hell.

I like EDM too, but I like it more when there's no vocals.
One of my nostalgic favourites is traffic from tiësto, The whole Parade of the Athletes album is amazing imo. We used to listen to this album always when we were driving full days to Poland to go on vacation there. Good memories.

Another good album from Tiësto is Elements of Life. This song is with vocals.

I was hit by a strong flu that has made me to become barely active on almost every online service, because I would only arrive home and sleep. This, along with the huge amount of internet issues at home, is the reason I stopped updating this topic.
But today a way too special track was released, and this is the perfect time to revive the topic with a new masterpiece, as well as information about a new label that I've been focusing on for a while.
