Gem Code Refunds
Hi everyone!
We are currently phasing out gem codes from the game. Anyone who purchased a gem code which was never redeemed has been reimbursed the gem value of the code. If you believe you still have a code outstanding, please contact Showpath or myself, and we'll investigate its status, and issue the gems as necessary.

How will we be able to transfer gems to other users without gem codes then? P2P transfers?

No idea. I have never seen any types of gem codes yet so I wouldn't know

Gem codes were formerly purchasable in the shop, on the Services tab. They were of 50, 105 and 220 gems. You bought your gem code, and gave it to a friend, a contest winner, etc.
Due to abuse they were removed, and only obtainable by contacting staff.

I remember how emalton bought a gem code to someone and how many gems was it? 1000? So I don't know how he does a 1000 gem giveaway

Administrators can make gem codes with custom gem values.

You know keeping gem codes would be nice, just removing the ability to use current gems you own would be nice. I know you could still sell them, so scamming is an issue, but add something against that in ToS. Then whoever partakes will be punished, I liked the idea.

cue the public inquiry to the admins: will y'all be willing to do that
If there are legitimate reasons to do so, I don't see why not. By doing the transfers manually, we know exactly when the transfers happen, and we have full logged information of why the transfers happen. Gem Codes didn't provide that.

I suppose for Gem hunts you can provide a special code that an admin knows means "okay this is the real deal"

Gem Codes didn't provide that.
then what if you had to get your reasoning approved by a staff member? like an extra text box for "reason"
