Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Guests have always been a part of Everybody Edits. Its classic and practical as most computer online multiplayer games have guests clients for new anonymous players.
Restricting EE to only people who only register is too uptight by limiting the amount of people who play Everybody Edits by a small percentage but still, it limits.
What is the problem about Guests? Why have the Admins not programmed patches yet due to Guests ban? Is there no return of Guests that has not been made official?
Offline
They won't because there have been multiple incidents of guest spamming and where thousands of guests would create thousands of worlds and flood the lobby, making the game unplayable, so the staff's decision was to just ban every. Single. Guest.
It's a stupid move, but you can't do much about it.
How long will it take me to get banned again?
Place your bets right here.

I think there is more to it.

I know that guest spam was a problem, even so, why has there not been some sort of patch?
I recently talked to Showpath about it and he said this;
also said its in a process but i mistakenly cropped that out and saved.
That's why I'm assuming there's more to it.

they were unbanned a while ago. unless they banned them again, idk

It's ez.
From:
public static const server_type_guestserviceroom:String = "$service-room$";
To:
public static const server_type_guestserviceroom:String = "LobbyGuest" + server_type_version;
Guest still works through bots.
Disable guest's means that no new users can test the game. And I guess we never get new people anymore.

solution: guests of same ip can only create 1 open world

This doesn't work anymore. Atilla released his PlayerIO version which can use different ip's upon world creation.

or just do not allow guests to create open worlds?

Doesn’t the serverside know which connections are bots?
One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

Nope.
There are some pretty good ways to check, but as soon as they are used people will easily find ways around them, so they are effectively useless.

This needs to be addressed.
Showpath, is factually incorrect. As Capasha mentioned, guests are configured to use the service room instead of the normal guest lobby room. I have not modified that or anything related to that.
It's too bad that people don't fact check things before just saying stuff.
The fix actually did fix things, otherwise nobody would have been able to play the game. Thanks to our hosting provider being a nuisance. There is unfortunately no other option as Showpath mentioned before. The previous team wanted to combine everything into a single room type but that is, in my opinion a not very good idea, and will likely just be a mess. The fix did introduce one problem but reproducing the problem is a game of chance. Anyway when the fixed was made so people could actually play the game, which outweighs the lottery that is that one problem.
We will likely unblock guests after we work on preventive measures to get rid of lobby spam, which we have already began working on.
As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I will be away for around a week. AND NOT A YEAR MAXI!!!!
