Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

So there's been some ridiculous drama going on since Emalton decided he wanted to be called John but there was already a user called John so he moved John's account to a different name. I think this could be made easier on everyone if multiple people could look like they have the same username.
E.g. if there's a user called "John" and I also wanted to be called "John" then I could buy a name change to "John" and the username below my smiley and on the world list would be "John", but if you click on my name you see this:
and my profile would link to http://everybodyedits.com/profiles/john-2 (which would also say JOHN-2 on it). Also, if I was in a world and the original John came in, my username in the world list and under my smiley would show the gray "-2" next to it.
10 years and still awkward. Keep it up, baby!

This is a good idea, but I feel that it will be very confusing for newer players. It's totally doable though. Forwarded.
he moved John's account to a different name
This is incorrect, he has the ability to change his username if/when he returns.

tbh I was confused when I realized Discord did this (and as a result there were four of me in one room--oops) but I guess it wasn't too hard to grasp
I feel like the difference for Discord is that it encompasses many communities so allowing duplicates makes sense. Also, it's centered around the idea of usernames and messaging.
I feel that A) our singular community is small to the point that duplicate people doesn't make a ton of sense and B) we have more than just messaging so the logic that applies to discord's focus on the username duplication may break down.

this was a thing in the past
why it got removed in the first place
A signature is a small piece of text that is attached to your posts. In it, you can enter just about anything you like. Perhaps you would like to enter your favourite quote or your star sign. It's up to you! In your signature you can use BBCode if it is allowed in this particular forum. You can see the features that are allowed/enabled listed below whenever you edit your signature.

No:
It would get really confusing in the chat due to the fact that a name currently is the only thing that distinguishes users. (We have no avatars or anything)
