Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I know it was denied many times, but now with new ownership it could be worth a discussion.
The old room limit was 80,000 (400x200 Room). 300x300 is a laggy exclusion. Now let's do some maths, the 400x200 world has 2 layers. Let's multiply the world size with the layer amount. 400x200x2=160,000. Let's add a 3rd layer without having larger storage then 160,000:
x*y*3 <= 160,000
x*y <= 53,333.(3) Let's say 53,333.
An example of a world of this size is Massive:
200x200 = 40,000 < 53,333
That means a 200x200 World could simply get a new layer, and still require less size then 400x200 (Great).
Example of moving to layer 3: Decoration. Don't we like to hide a god mode block behind a bush or put a hidden portal in a forest?
tbh, it sounds like a pretty good idea.
you could make easter eggs, without making them obvious where they are
I can speak by breathing in but it sounds like a dying horse

To top <- worth going on the link

That's why i decided to make a topic for it
That would just make things more messy
having 3 layers? sure that is handy on some situations for world creation, but I don't think having this feature on a set number of worlds is going to do any real good other than confusion

well, the only thing i can say is, you gotta be prepared

maby ee should allow more data and allow bigger worlds am dyeha oi like this but not only for centrain worlds and i like the ide abetter to have multiply action blocks in 1 spot (thus locking a portal with a coin door or smthign )
thanks hg for making this much better and ty for my avatar aswell

What about infinite binaries for every world? Smileys with an ideal circle 2π8px. Bacteries could infect you in a time. Storing on a world things like mili-second ideal creation last edit time and stuff. Much data. You feel like a god. And the CPU falls out of your hands, because there is no place for cpu in your hands anymore by all this data.
EDIT/ Not philosophy: Everything has a limit.
These storage limitations are not set by us, but by our hosting provider. If we could allow bigger worlds, we definitely would.
OT:
As others have mentioned above, this would complicate things and would be confusing for new players.

What about for users who have beat atleast 5 different campaigns would be considered as not new and have more options - like this?
Like layers on an art program? That's intriguing.

But we need this.
I can't say it'd be necessary but I really like the concept. I recall the bug someone found back when layer 0 could be placed in bg and vice versa. I'm sure we've all played those levels. I'm just imagining what it'd be like if that was actually on purpose.
anywho. yeah adding layers would be a data issue, good point. But not as big of an issue as, say, text blocks...
edit: action blocks would become more complicated though. We'd want to decide if all three layers dictate change, or if there's a decoration action layer. Otherwise the collision detection would have to evaluate all layers

We need to bear in mind that its more of a theoretical data limit than an actual limit you will run in to, because it only comes into effect when you actually use the layers (as you would probably only rarely use both of the layers at the same time it wouldnt really matter), but this doesnt solve the problem of it still being complicated to use, and confusing for new players (to play as well as build, so you couldnt just put it behind a barrier so you learn other things first)
