Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: forum rank gripes

Regular users are just regular users and don't have a spot in the legend because they're the "default." It's intentional, whether or not it's actually a good idea is something else entirely.

EE admins are pink because there's limited room on the color wheel thanks to all these themes.

EE Admin v2.0 is the replacement role for EE PR/Nou's rank. They are technically moderators, but only in the Game Business section so that they can edit/update topics made by other staff members.

Campaign Managers will probably be destroyed or swapped with Campaign Curators.

Suspiciously New Users have additional restrictions when the forums have a bad feeling but not bad enough to outright deny them from registering.

Unapproved users will likely be removed, it's for users that are not allowed to post anywhere except the hidden "Get approval" forum and is not currently used.

Tentatively approved users is for users that have heavy post time restrictions in times where we're worried about a raid. It could be merged with Suspiciously New Users without many changes.

Trusted Members is currently unoccupied but will be used. Users in that group can set off the raid alarm all by themselves.

what? does this mean like "okay ill let you register but have this title noob"?

can we have more info on this
"set off" means raise up the alarm or lower it? because i suck at reading
who is going to be in the group?
how exactly will the "set off the raid alarm" work for them? something like X trusted members have to vote "set off alarm" for it to work?

perhaps some of the groups in the legend could be hidden from public view to make it clean? (namely the ones without colors, such as new users, suspiciously new users, tentacle approved users)

No the forums will allow the user to register but the staff will be alerted and they will have heavy restrictions until staff acknowledge the alert and say everything checks out.

Normally, it takes a handful of users all reporting the same user with the raid box ticked before the forums will ban them (at least until a mod can assess the situation), hide their posts, lock down registrations, and hide images.
A trusted user could do that with just one report.

Makes sense to me.

Elsewhere...

I'll clean it up at some point.

I recognize it's a mess I just don't prioritize de-messing it as highly as you might want me to.

EDIT:

  • Merged:

    • Unapproved Users

    • Tentatively Approved Users

    • Suspiciously New Users

  • Hidden:

    • Trusted Members

    • EE Admin v2.0

    • Campaign Managers

    • New Users

  • Renamed:

    • EE Admin v2.0 -> EE Forum Manager (No longer visible)

    • Tentatively Approved Users - > Restricted New Users (Title is now "Brand New Member")

    • EE Administrators -> EE Admins (Forum title unchanged, it has always been "EE Admin")

    • EE Moderators -> EE Mods (Same)

    • Campaign Managers -> Campaign Curators

  • Other changes:

    • Searching the user list for "New Users" brings up both New User groups. Restricted New User group hidden from search.

    • Searching the user list for "EE Admins" brings up both EE Admin groups.

I’m not particularly bothered. Brits just like to complain.

On that note, regular forum users still need some kinda tag so that newbs know what a yellow name means. Why not just that? - Forum Users. I suppose it could act as a superset and redirect to the entire user list; everyone’s a forum user but subsets like “EE Mods” take precedence when tagging.

Also Benje quit.

Re: forum rank gripes

I would actually change regular users' yellow color to the nostalgia blue one, and then just make it global like the rest of the colors

Re: forum rank gripes

Just a quick question about the trusted members group.
Are the members of this group hidden or is it still empty? (As seen from the users list). Or is it some sub-group that does not overwrite the members group?

It's empty for the moment but not hidden.
