There isn't one but if you make it purposefully obnoxious it will be removed.

Anything wider than a user's screen is chopped off so I wouldn't advise making anything sincere that's too large.

They're actually scaled down to the user's width.

The only limit resides in height: 300px.

Right, forgot, the max width of any image on the forums is 100%. Some browsers chop it off, most mobile browser seem to prefer actually scaling the image.
