Since it only seems to read the current tab title, I don't have trouble with it, but Atilla got banned for it (according to capasha).

Thus I'm making this public since I don't know if this is actually a rule breaker. Plus, it'd be interesting to talk about these stalkers (aside this one's spaghetti code).

I didn't get banned for my signature image, anyone can log an IP address and it's impossible to know whether they are doing so.

Well, to be honest, any image could potentially track and store some data as soon as it is loaded. This one in particular just happens to read the page it is loaded from in an obvious way.
People who have an issue with this are free to disable images from sites they don't trust.
IIRC Atilla put at some point a 1x1pixel transparent image, which provides absolutely no meaningful content for any forum user. I don't know much more than that.
