Did any of y’all buy or order the new iPhone X?
Not gonna lie... I did as a birthday present for myself lmao but t doesn’t arrive till early December

I'm using a 4s too, IMO iPhones are good if you get them second hand a year or two after they were released, but are in no way worth it at the time of release

I guess I just like the polished feel of iPhones, android just feels... unfinished I guess...

lol chill i have two jobs if anyone knows the way capitalism exploits society it’s me
i literally said it was for my birthday let me splurge on something that makes me happy

Also we already have an Android vs iPhone topic in debates I think but tbh I just like iMessage since almost all of my friends have it. Just makes things easier. I also like to be ahead of the curve when it comes to technology so I don’t really like buying things years after they were released. Why not spend a little extra money for something you use every day

If you're dead set on an iPhone, why not the 8 over the X? If you're going to be spending extra money on it maybe it'd be better if those extra dollars didn't make it harder to use.

Apps that have been updated for the iPhone X all have different ways of dealing with the notch that sometimes lead to strange results, especially in apps that play video. YouTube only has two fullscreen zoom options, so playing the Last Jedi trailer resulted in either a small video window surrounded by both letter- and pillar-boxing or a fullscreen view with the notch obscuring the left side of the video. Netflix is slightly better because it mostly plays 16:9 video but you’re still stuck choosing between giant black borders around your video or the notch.

Landscape mode on the iPhone X is generally pretty messy: the notch goes from being a somewhat forgettable element in the top status bar to a giant interruption on the side of the screen, and I haven’t seen any apps really solve for it yet. And the home bar at the bottom of the screen often sits over the top of content, forever reminding you that you can swipe to go home and exit the chaos of landscape mode forever.

If you're dead set on an iPhone, why not the 8 over the X? If you're going to be spending extra money on it maybe it'd be better if those extra dollars didn't make it harder to use.

Because most of those problems are software issues and will be fixed soon enough. Also I literally never use landscape mode, I have portrait lock on like 99% of the time. The only thing I finder harder to use is Face ID but I’ll get over it.
