We should be allowed to but we shouldn’t be expected to. The societal expectation for men to act manly has a negative impact in my opinion and affects every man on a daily basis. Even as a guy who has accepted and embraced their femininity I still find myself doing things just to keep up a masculine image when it really isn’t something I would ordinarily care for. As an example, whenever I am asked to lift something heavy I get very insecure that it looks like I’m struggling to lift it due to how physically weak I actually am. Men are also not expected to talk about thier emotions because it isn’t ‘manly’ to do so. This is damaging on so many levels.
