Unless you're making complicated switch systems or huge world filling, I doubt you'll need bots at all.

Preferably not.

It's entirely dependent on the way in which you're using a bot, merely using a tool to speed up the process of designing a world is perfectly fine.

The mere presence of a bot isn't going to be a part of the judging process, given that a completed world cannot be actively modified post submission.
The world should not rely on the presence or use of any external input, whether it being bots or requiring multiple connections, visiting a website, etc.

You have 7 foreground, 7 decorations, and 7 backgrounds you can create (i dont think you have to use everything)

Can't upload blocks on Chromium/Ubuntu. I get stuck on unresponsive file browser.

Yeah when I get a chance to, I will add a upload by URL option.
Sadly it's Thanksgiving weekend, so it might be a few days away.

In that case, you should change your DNS to one that isn't controlled by your ISP firewall. I'd recommend OpenNIC (guide).
