i just thought of something. what if you could bet money of the world ending on X date. would enough conspiracy theorists be stupid enough to bet for it, resulting in a profit for everyone betting against it? this is what helps the economy people

then it's moot because for all intents and purposes the "world" as we discuss it and perceive it would not change by that new declaration. Unless we can prove or otherwise better understand things that we deal with, anything otherwise doesn't affect us

It's quite unfortunate, honestly.

If they had been given an actual education, instead of indoctrination into theology, they might have not ended up like this.
I think that although many of these people have an interest in the subjects they venture into, they have too little direction.

I think that if this man, along with other numerologists, would have been properly introduced to mathematics, it'd probably be a different story.
I think similarly of people who end up as pickpockets, they use the same skilled practices which are common in magic shows, notably sleight of hand.

If they had a better direction in life, instead of being mislead (in this case, poor economic situation, instead of religion) they could have been better off.
