Personally, I think it was a red herring. Curse of Manipulation from King Ghost probably counts as magical.

Marten is correct, I highly doubt there's 2 joy riders. The way I see it, Marten's trying to frame Abelysk, either as exe or maf. Lynching Marten OR Ab gives good information here. If one is inno, get the other. I've already stated I believe Abelysk is town.

yeah I think king ghost would benefit from picking people who are actually active. So it's more than likely we'd have someone willing to come forward and say "hey the king ghost does exist be careful" because otherwise they're not helping their alignment

I still want to get martenm the benefit of the doubt. Maybe we misinterpret his statement.

but I reiterate my point: doubtful that we'd have multiple joy riders. That said, while I don't put a whole lot of stock into abelysk's claims, I do admit that there's more going for them than the counter claim sans pressure

1. Onjit - voted abelysk (Which could be valid but is still bandwagon), is willing to work with group though (car test on abelysk). probably reliable
2. jkdrip - a bit misguided (nolynch isn't a valid d1 strategy grr), but attempts to reason so I can't write them off
3. Gosha - absolutely nothing except showing up to ride a wagon. BUT, they have been banned for a good portion of the game.
4. maxi123 HeyNK - leaning town. The long and short is diff only ever accused maxi and died. That's too obvious to act on right?
6. MartenM - hard to understand. If truly claiming second joy rider then suspicious
8. Slabdrill - I don't want to meta. Uh, again I can appreciate people reasoning things and they're doing that. Also a crowd-follower but in this instance I feel compelled to point out that by definition more often than not people in a crowd must follow it or it isn't a crowd.
10. Music Man - I'd like to see more posts, kinda like to a lesser extent onjit, EB, and maxi, but life happens I get that... just not to proc's extent. also furthers discussion
11. Evilbunny - again, quiet... but reasoned
12. Abelysk - likely story but more below
13. Processor - suspicious; more below

So, in regards to proc. If he's not swapped out for not playing we should seriously consider lynching them. They're 100% dead weight. This isn't regular quietness, this just plain bothers me. By definition we can't read him and he doesn't vote.

But the more obvious issue is the apparent duplicity of claims with Abelysk and MartenM. I urge you all to consider not pushing this issue so soon. We have time. I understand that once details are apparent we don't want them to cool off in our minds. However, MartenM should at least get the chance to say "oh that's not what I meant" before we check their claims

I keep saying people are reasoned and that's probably annoying. I'm not good at reads, but I think more substance can help y'all that do.

OK so if you were claiming, weren't you doing so based on the idea that there wouldn't be more than one? It sounds like you presented town with an issue but now want to have it go away since it isn't in your favor.

So could there be? I haven't seen a rule that prevents duplicate roles but this seems suspect

I mean nothing inherently scummy about that but that's not really a convincing defense either. If I understand correctly, we're still left with two joy riders and the idea that there should be one. Honestly to me this is starting to sound like a legit counterclaim. I mean our detective suspected Abelysk and now someone's essentially saying they're lying (but then backtracking because they don't want to be the losing end of the dispute).

tl;dr: I still think we're looking at MartenM/Abelysk but I'm kinda siding with MartenM on this one

Do you guys at least have a plan to set up a joyrider check tonight? I don't think we should lynch either of them until we know that they are both joyriders and not car thieves. The main difference being, that car thieves DON'T give the car back.

Joyriders BORROW not steal. Considering this role is kind of like a fruit vendor in that it self confirms, we really should lynch this dude, a townflip of joyrider would force mafia to kill abelysk instead of someone important like an invest since he'd be in the clear.

Abelysk: no matter what he flips, borrow onjit's car tonight.
Onjit: report back on your car's status.

I only guessed earlier when I said King Ghost might be able to send messages before he died. I'm beginning to think that's not the case.

The plan was to have Onjit check his car tonight, and Abelysk would borrow my car. Although I realized I get it back in the morning, and I won't be able to check my car at night. We need a different plan.
