so great logic you guys have here but ultimately word count isn't the issue. "lol" is useless spam (read: doesn't add to discussion)

As long as it's not a ridiculously long ban duration (read: 6 months), it's fine imo.
I mean that's a pretty minor offense, but I also feel like he has some warning points so seeing a month ban for this would not be unheard of.

Well if lol was wooted by a ton of people I think it's obvious that they knew Lictor's message: the contest was BS. Lol does have its meaning as an acronym so idk why it constituted as spam.

I suppose he could be more constructive but it's an inside joke that people know about including me.

Spam (minor) should be likeeee, saying a one worder that doesn't fit whatsoever to the thread. Something like "omg" or "oh" or "yea" or something would be disruptive and pointless but "lol" would for the most part be meaningful.

If a group of people were to make a string of lol's one after the other, though, that would certainly constitute as spam.

Actually, if he had previous warnings he should have probably gotten a longer ban, because this sort of behavior lowers the quality of the forum over time.

Maybe I am the only one, maybe not.
But I did rather not open a topic to only find 'lol', 'wow', 'lmao' post as reactions.

You can woot if you agree with something, or if you find something funny.

This warning may look like a bit harsh but if it is allowed to post such posts, I can see the previous thing mentioned happening pretty quick.
