Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Welcome everyone to experimental Mafia 14! This is my first time hosting a game and I'm introducing a few new mechanics which are mostly self explanatory. This thread will contain some of that information but everything will be explained more when the game starts on the 1st of September. Time until the game starts: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/b … nt=cursive
This game will be a closed set up, kinda. I have a document containing all details about the game mechanics I will be using in any game I host. This includes the 65 different roles that I will potential use which all have their role cards written out. These roles are mostly of my own creation but they still include variants of known Mafia roles. I'd recommend you use control+f on the document to look up different roles and how they may differ from traditional mafia. For example the role blocker is called a dancer. Furthermore, it would be wise to familiarise yourself with the difference between investigative roles such as cop, detective, sheriff, investigator etc. This game will have 13 players.
Everyone who plans on joining the game MUST read the following piece of information. This is the main mechanic that I want to introduce which is a little more complicated than the rest:
This is a quick list of all the potential roles (without descriptions) that could appear in the game:
And finally this is the document in which all the information you will need for my games can be found. The document is quite large but if you want to do well in the game I would recommend trying to understand some of the possible roles. This document can be accessed any time during the game for reference. So if a role is mentioned, just search for it in the document to find out what it can do. This method also prevents anyone claiming town by their role card since everyone has access to every possible role card: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18AJ … sp=sharing
If you would like to join this game then please post on this thread stating specifically that you want to join.
*If you get forum banned at any point during the game I will take your actions into consideration on discord. This means you will still be able to perform any day / night actions (aside from lynch voting). This includes any Mafia or other group chats you may be a part of.

I feel like the whole transport mechanic is too gimmicky in my opinion. That said, I didn't enjoy the last mafia so I don't wanna join this one.

I would like to clarify something about the transport idea.
Basically I created this system to solve the 'if a role blocker blocks a role blocker' paradox. I then developed it from there. The travel times may not even effect the game that much as most players will generally not be online for the very start and the very end of each day and time limits.
If the transport idea does turn out quite **** then I will certainly remove it; hence why this game is "experimental".

Immediately looking at the doc, I don't see anything about curses in the pre-role section. Mind explaining them, or do they just appear later in the doc?
Wills too. Are we allowed to write wills?
Ghost - Is this a curse thing? Now that I think about it, of course it is. ...Ah. Now king ghost's description still assumes you've just become a king ghost...?
Witch > Possession - It seems like you wouldn't always be able to have the person actually post the roles be active for too much of the day, or they might not be paying maximal attention. Probably shouldn't use this role.
Sniper - I assume this nightkill ignores transport?
suddenly random sig change

When are solo-alignment roles a threat to town? When they can kill? When they have an action that impedes town?

Well I thought I put curses at the start of the doc but apparently not kek. And yeah, curses are at the very bottom. Pages 75, 76 and 77.

If you mean a curse as in a curse given to you by a witch then definitely not. Ghost and King Ghost are roles. Someone would start as a King Ghost and start converting other players to Ghosts.
Witch > Possession - It seems like you wouldn't always be able to have the person actually post the roles be active for too much of the day, or they might not be paying maximal attention. Probably shouldn't use this role.
I see what you mean. I have changed this ability to be limited to 3 posts and the person being controlled isn't muted for the day. There will be punishments for anyone I believe is staying offline on purpose to avoid posting the messages.

Correct.

Solo alignment roles are consider a threat when their win condition states that they can only win INSTEAD of the town rather than along side them. Basically only the Witch variants are considered threats to the town.

So you're telling me that all witch variants have the ability to kill?
Or is there something else that would prevent a deadlock in case there is only the (insert witch variant) and the town left?

This is what it says about the win condition of each of the witches:
"Win condition: Survive. If all of the Mafia are killed then you will take control of the town. You are considered town to the Mafia unless you join them."
The Witch cannot kill anyone directly. But if the game ends whilst there is still a Witch alive then the town does not win. (I should probably update the description here to say when the game ends rather than as soon as all the Mafia are eliminated which it seems to imply).
Nvm, the Witches take control of the town as soon as all the Mafia are dead rather than when the town vote to end the game.

Also this:
Typically, if the town votes to end the game when there is still a Mafia member alive, the Mafia wins.
So you mean the town also must guess the exact number of mafia people or auto-lose?
Note to above post: nevermind

Typically there will only be 3 Mafia. I've made sure to balance this. If there is for example only one Mafia member then sure, the Town will continue to destroy themselves pointlessly for a while, but once the night kills stop I think most people will take that as a sign that there isn't any more Mafia. The vote to end the game is mainly going to affect solo roles or any town members with an additional win condition.

In the case of a Wild Card, if the player chooses a role that requires other specific roles that are likely to not be in that game, what happens? (ie Tragic Lover)
Excluding such roles as options seems reasonable to me
Probably my last question: How do you kill the King Ghost?
