Will read/unread thingy ever be fixed?

To me, this thing is SSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bugged, but maybe I am missing something, so I am asking.

I have been banned for 1 week (no THIS IS NOT BAN COMPLAINT) and now that I came back, this is how my "Active" list looks like:

p.s in case you're wondering, "Open All Unread" is koya's code

There is NO WAY there were only 8 posts in a whole week, and why posts below aren't marked as unread when I didn't read them???

so, what's happening ?

I'm sure when I'm unbanned in past there's 15 pages of unread topics each 150 topics in page, now it's limited to 8 unreaded topics, that's why it's got smaller

how often are you checking the forums while you're banned?

might you have checked between 12:38 and 15:00?

What do you mean; while I was banned or after my ban expired? Is the time you stated UTC or??

Btw I am using UTC +2

Edit: just to note that it also happens when I am not banned. I am afk -- and some cheeky posts get read when I didn't touch them. Similar goes when I open posts myself -- but later on I notice they aren't marked as read.
Idk how other people can live with this.

If you visit the forums then go away then all posts ae marked as read. The forums assume you've seen all you intended to.

Sometimes when I come back every post I read recently becomes unread again even though there is no new posts...

For example it tells me that my own post isn't a post I have seen yet. It's kinda annoying but bearable.

something I did just now brought this very issue again:

1. I open every new post in a new tab
2. I look at half of them
3. I reload the 'new posts' page
    3a. Posts I have read are still unread

also, irrelevant: I was going to share proof of this situation. But in a stupor this is all I brought for proof. Useful, I know

edit: could it be the rate of page loads on the server? Unless we're updating something in a database via a tracking cookie, in which case we'd simply need to wait until the page returned our new cookie for the domain to start loading the new one.

At least, that's my side of the issue

OMG IT started happening AGAIN

log in after 7 days ban
click active, I have like 1.5 page new posts active
click new, I have like 5 pages new posts
READ only ONE single post, the "I am going to sleep" by ninja
go offline
go online now again, after like 10 hours
guess what? over 70% posts before marked as unread are now either marked as read or don't appear at all, when I didn't touch them

This isnt a bug, although maybe it should be changed to somehow allow for this scenario
