Previous names show up even when profile is blocked
It should be possible to see someone's previous names even when their profile is blocked. That way when they change it, you don't get confused as to who they are with no one to check until they get online. I almost removed a good friend because they changed their name.

Some people (like Whirl) made their profiles private so people won't see their previous names.
You can use 3rd party tools tho

What there needs to be is better control for privatizing your account. For example, you could hide your name, or your smilies, or your worlds, or your beta status, or your blocks, or any mix of those, or all of it.
