Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Is $1 good money for working with support?

I work with support business and each support I finish I get $1. Is it really worth that?
I'ts a small office and I don't have so much to do. But when it comes I only get $1 for each job I do.

What should I do to get more money? Is it programming that get more money?
If it's programming then I'm going to study so I can get more money.

well it's common for jobs to be described in hourly wages. How long do you take to get one support task completed?

But if it's entirely about money then yes, you should probably compare that with the wages of a programmer. If you enjoy the work, your decision is a bit more complicated

It's different. Sometime it can get like 5 minutes or to 1 hour. I also have driver license so It can take even a day to help people at home.

What country do you live in? Wages vary massively depending on where you live, as well as on some other things that they probably shouldnt, like age and gender
Also, how many do you think you finish on average per hour?

Like I said before, the company isn't so big and we doesn't get so many to support. Like now I have only supported 2 through Remote Administration Tool.
The first person took me 30 minutes the second took me an hour. It's different because many people that request help don't know anything about computers. They often only know how to use a web browser.

It wouldn't really matter how long time it takes because I only get $1 every day even if I have up to 10 people to help from Remove Administration Tool or at home.

The company I work for use English or Swedish and many other languages for Remote Administration Tool support. The people I drive to are from Sweden. I only support people at home in one region in Sweden.

As destroyer mentions, is this USD? Depending on the country, your currency could have more buying power.

so perhaps we aren't the best folk to ask.

What are your studies? High School, College? And in what domain? This usually makes a lot of difference.

I did part-time office work and got like $0.2 per page written.
Handwritten manuscripts to type on computer. (The hard part was more to understand the messy handwriting)

Uh, no, that's not worth it. You'd make more working at a fast food joint.

Right now I'm going to continue my reading for C#. I don't know if people want anyone that understand and can make complicated programs in C#.
I have never done any computer class with the target programming in High School or College. I have been learning this my self. Is there really necessary to have knowledge from School?

I see. I like my job at the company so much but I also feel that I maybe not get enough for the effort.

Well here, in my country, to get a job in programming, lets say C# you need to fulfil at least one of this conditions:

  • Have been working already in C# in another company for 3 or 5 years.

  • Being a student in CS section of a college. (The state gives fonds to companies who hire college students. It doesn't matter how good the students are. The companies usually seek just for the fonds. However if they see you're a valuable asset they will be going to ask you for a real job)

  • Knowing somebody who can recommend you to a business man / Having somebody already in the company you wish to work for.

Considering it's a small job AND you like the job, you might get a raise/promotion if you work long enough.

If you feel invisible at work and noone pays attention to you, then might as well find another job.

You're pretty much being used as a slave.

Wait... you get $1 for doing a job that you're actually employed by a real business to do? Is that not illegal? Like is there no minimum wage?

Re: Is $1 good money for working with support?

In Sweden you can earn waaaaay more at any other job. It depends on how easy it is to get accepted, if it's not that hard you can earn 5 to 10 times as much by working at fastfoodrestaurants or at a supermarket. Also you should probably look up if there's a minimum wage for your collective agreement (although I doubt you're working legally)

Re: Is $1 good money for working with support?

So you're making, what, around 30$ total no matter what, as you described.

You're wasting your time, you should study some more, get into programming if it's what you like, I'm sure you'll earn more.

Or like they said above, ANYTHING else, fast food or something, you'll earn a decent wage to pay the bills.

Put more value on your time and effort, if you don't, nobody will.
