Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

potter wrote:harry wrote:im a wizard
ur a wizzy wizz
i revoke ur license to drive
then the reply button fixes it all!!!
just hit "reply" and it'll quote the above user's post, as well as remove all quote tags in the above user's post, so instead of hitting "quote" and having ur msg look like this
[quote=mrfrank]
[quote=potter]
[quote=harry]
im a wizard
[/quote]
ur a wizzy wizz
[/quote]
i revoke ur license to drive
[/quote]
gosh darnit now i need to remove all these diggedy darn quotes because theres too many
to this
[quote=mrfrank]
i revoke ur license to drive
[/quote]

Just like Quote button but quotes only one post instead of every quote people quote. Nice idea.
Maybe it would be better if you had a seperate reply tag instead, which acts as a quote but where anything more than 1 message deep is spoilered, that way you can look back if you need to, but it doesnt block your screen if you dont
Then maybe you could also have a setting for 'messages in reply' so you can chose how many messages you are shown
Edit: or I guess you could do this with normal quotes... I dont see any reason you wouldnt want this

But a replying to a post that contains a quote gives context to the reply, I think it only shows 4 nested quotes which I think works fine.
Thank you eleizibeth ^
I stack my signatures rather than delete them so I don't lose them

well one issue with these sorts of ideas involve how the posts are structured
so uh, what if I'm quoting the OP here? What should be considered important? The top? Middle? bottom? Include the code boxes? What if those were quotes?
Should we just assume that the Reply button takes the last regular text line? At some point this seems useless because you just select the text you want and hit Quote
