No EpicFish, it wasn't beta, that is the problem. Chris just got lazy, that's why it is by e-mail now.

A better argument would be that, so what, someone that came 7 months ago can't be a fan either?

All the people who are complaining about how you already had the smiley; remember that you basically had it in Beta for 7/8 months. Normal items are taken out of Beta in less than a month.

But before people actually had to write and send letters through the mail, now all they have to do is draw a two second smiley, take a picture, and e-mail it. It hardly seems fair.

So before you tell me I can't read, perhaps you should read my posts a tad bit more carefully.
I purposely made something completely unrelated to EE, scribbled on a message, and misspelled Chris.
I might write some poem or something in my handwriting and then draw some crap picture and send it in.
Either way, it's seriously pretty much discriminating against a whole field of people. A lot of people have gimp, sai, ms paint or something, but not all people have printer paper and a scanner/camera/webcam.
