Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: A WAY TO UNBAN PEOPLE YOU KICK

this is a bad idea, some noobs can abused the ban system and It has a reason why a kick has a 5 min ban, the reasons are the trollers, spamers and and and.......
and if you want to ban people, then use MRBot by MartenM or the Banhammer by capasha

I was told it was 30 seconds. Did EE Staff change this?

It's just not worth it.

Re: A WAY TO UNBAN PEOPLE YOU KICK

Maybe we can run with this

For as long as I can remember, people have wondered at the ban situation, worrying about the duration and whatnot. Do we explicitly say somewhere that there is a temporary ban included? Probably could make that the suggestion.

easiest thing to add, yet fixes this issue too

What about a --no-tempban parameter?

/kick --no-tempban <username> <reason>

This would just kick the user but not ban him for 5 minutes.

If the argument is not specified, command will work as normally.

Re: A WAY TO UNBAN PEOPLE YOU KICK

I don't like the thought of adding flags to EE commands. Might as well just make a whole new command.

/kick username reason - kicks <username> for <reason>
/ban username minutes reason - kicks <username> for <reason> and bans them for <minutes> minutes with a kinda small max on this, maybe 30 minutes. or if we did it in seconds the max could be 999, which is just over 15 minutes

Either way, like hummerz is saying, it should be a bit more obvious that kicking is not the only thing that /kick does.

Re: A WAY TO UNBAN PEOPLE YOU KICK

Why are half of these suggestions based on accidents now? Do you people have parkinsons? Can you control a mouse properly? Is it that easy to make mistakes?

Anyway I don't think there should be a /unban but I have supported the extended time kicks. /kick should default to 5 minutes and have an extension flag and /ban should permanently ban the player from a room until everyone has left.

Re: A WAY TO UNBAN PEOPLE YOU KICK

Perhaps there could be an /invite command that invites a player over and gives them a notification, nulling out any kicks. Of course, there would have to be some limitations to avoid abuse.

I think kicks should end after everybody leaves the room. That means we wouldn't need bans as you could make kicks last for large amounts of time for the same effect.

There are only so many commands we can add before Everybody Edits becomes Command Prompt: Jumping Smileys Edition, so having a high command usability-to-complexity ratio is ideal.

How about stop trying to ruin ee? ~<O Visfalse, "inspect," and mute have already vacuumed pinnacles of joy and charm out of it. That's why EE is in the state it is now - just a bunch of ultra-confusing switch worlds and "noble"-class children flapping their fur parkas in my dimple.
