Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

New text font?

After losing power earlier today, when I booted my computer up again, I noticed the EE chat now has a more condensed, blurrier font style.

I much prefer the old version as I find it much clearer to read.  What happened, and how can I return to it?

Re: New text font?

It's probably text anti-aliasing. Make sure it's disabled here:

Thank you for the help, but I unchecked it and I'm still getting the smoother font..

I would probably like the smoother font if it was bigger, at the current size and from my comfortable position from my monitor, it's quite blurry to me and the names are smushed together.  Just difference preferences! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Re: New text font?

If it happened after your computer lost power suddenly then some important file somewhere might have gotten corrupted. Try doing a system restore or if windows has some built in repair tools then use those.

I'd highly recommend not using recovery tools built within Windows, they typically result in even more data loss from my experience.

Re: New text font?

Chrome always uses anti-aliasing, so it's possible that Chrome was updated from version that didn't use anti-aliasing. Firefox is my preferred browser.

Re: New text font?

I think it's a browser thing, on Firefox I get 2 (which I prefer), while on Edge, I get 1

Re: New text font?

On my computer:

Mozilla Firefox, application, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge: no anti-aliasing (the good font)
Google Chrome: anti-aliasing (the bad font)

So don't use Chrome. Also, disable ClearType.

Chrome is inconsistent because it uses Pepper Flash (NPAPI plugins don't work in Chrome because of security issues).
