How did Kiraninja changed his name to Dream?

Dream was an used username account, how did kiraninja got that username?

What I think about this:

Moderators know here are a lot of unused accounts with fake mails so they not have owners, then kiraninja asked them to give to him the username dream, and because that account were made with a fake mail and have not being used again, they changed the username of that account to other and gave to kiraninja the username of dream.

Other way is that kiraninja asked the owner of that account to give it to him and that way get the username, but that is very improbable, almost impossible to happen so first analogy is more accurate i guess.

Have kiraninja stolen that username? Or what do you think would have happened?

I helped him change. The account wasn't functional because it wasn't connected to anything (email/fb/kong/ag), so it was hogging a username for no reason.
