Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I bet 90% of you just read this title and asked: ,,What the frick is a polyphasic sleeper??? Eh i'll click on it anyways,,
Well a polyphasic sleeper is someone who doesn't stick to the basic sleep routine and makes different sleep patterns.
The sleep most people use is called monophasic sleep, where you lay down at like, midnight, and wake up at like 9AM normally. Nothing unusual.
However did you know that you can actuly sleep at different rates and still have enough energy for the day?
There are many different ways to sleep, you can see all of the different types here: https://www.polyphasicsociety.com/polyp … overviews/
Here you can research a little bit more to see if you want to try something. http://www.dreams.co.uk/sleep-matters-c … fographic/
Im trying the Everyman one, where you sleep for 3 hours in the night and take 3 naps during the day. I started a few days ago and i can confirm, the first few days of a new sleep pattern is really friggin hard.
For any experts in polyphasic sleeping, what type of sleep pattern do you use and do you have any tips for me or any other forumer who is also trying it? Discuss.

In all honesty, I don't sleep to have short term energy on the next day. I instead sleep to not be worn out on the long term.

well, wikipedia says the USAF still shoots for 8 hours. Given that our society sorta assumes 8 hours anyway, we may as well get them when our peers sleep.
Each individual nap should be long enough to provide at least 45 continuous minutes of sleep, although longer naps (2 hours) are better. In general, the shorter each individual nap is, the more frequent the naps should be (the objective remains to acquire a daily total of 8 hours of sleep).[11]
so I mean there's that
sure, odd schedules would be interesting but ultimately I don't see them being too helpful.

I don't like taking naps in the middle of the day. After waking up from a nap, I always feel incredibly tired and sometimes get a headache. I don't necessarily feel sleepy, but my head feels tired if that makes sense. Like it feels really heavy or something.

I am definitely not a monophasic sleeper but I don't have a set sleeping schedule. I usually just sleep whenever I'm tired, usually my "naps" last for hours. Since there's not any regularity I wouldn't call it polyphasic tho

won't attempt any of these newfangled sleep schedules because they seem pretty dangerous in my opinion
until you give me scientific evidence proving that such a sleep schedule IS safe, i'm pretty skeptical
i mean, 3 hours and a few naps will turn you into some energetic super human capable of completing more tasks than a regular person? I would rather sleep a nice, solid 8 hours all at once than chunk it out.

Well im just testing it out. From what I know genetics can play a part in it.
If I can survive the week without dying I might devote more time to this thing.
From what I researched biphasic is the easiest one to master and is good to fall back on if you get too tired.
So far it's not too bad, though I find myself with more energy during the morning but I just die in the afternoon.

I'd like to only have to force myself out of bed as few times as possible per day. Even just once is a struggle sometimes.
