It doesn't, but it's an improvement that could be made. The forum could just be plain black text on a white background with no styling or images and it wouldn't break anything, but it's not because it's better this way.

This topic isn't about adding the YouTube tag, it's about stripping it when quoting someone else in the same way the image tag is stripped when you quote a post with an image.

For images you only get the link to the source for quoting. Which is nice and prevents image spam.
So why isn't this for the [youtube ] bbcode?

I would suggest making the 'quote behavior' of [youtube ] the same as images for consistency and because it makes some posts a bit cleaner.

Hello. The issue has been pointed out previously. Apparently just locking dupes isn't productive, so have a merge. If this merge is in error, do speak up.

Yes this is basically the same as I suggested. Pretty surprised that this has not been changed yet though.
