No duh, everyone works for their money (pretty much). I just envy his extra spending money.

I have a set budget on things per month, i.e. I didn't buy any new games this summer and bought No Man's Sky; I didn't buy any clothes this summer so invested in a new hoodie as my current one is about 4 years old and too worn down. It's not extra spending money, it's just money I didn't spend on a certain category; I also live in hoodies and would rate it at $0.50/day so worth it in about 6.57 months and it'll probably last 2-4 years meaning $0.13-$0.07 a day.

I buy things considering longevity and usage and budget everything. I have next to no possessions, literally only my computer, table and chair so rather than putting money into useless junk I put it into my computer as I use it daily and that hoodie.

tl;dr - illusion of extra spending money
