Have a whole different channel for the forum activity. This way greg doesnt spam the forum all the time. (also devoice everyone in that channel)

Ya, I know that. But what if you wanna see how long people get banned and stuff. Or what if you dont wanna see all the swearing and dirty talk that bimps, ninja, and insanity say but you still wanna se forum activity

This has been talked about a while before and we came to the conclusion that if greg gave forum updates in a separate channel, nobody would ever really read them since they are more for an immediate notification of posts. if you want a log to check for new posts, just go to the new posts page

How about having GregBot not only be in #eeforums, but another channel, like #GregBot? If no better idea is found, that would at least fit Freckleface's reason that it would help those who want to see forum activity, but not the activities that go on in #eeforums.

not sure what's the deal with greg constantly giving "updates" for the forums

it's really spammy and clogs up the irc, so i ignored him

however, i miss some valuable information; freckledface pointed out i can't see how much time i'm devoiced/banned/enraged_like_a_rat_in_a_cage for

hey it's good to have an alert whenever someone posts so i can check it out immediately instead of after 20 minutes

If I recall correctly, we once had EEBot, which also had the quotes. Quotes are gone, though.
