There used to be times where there would be thousands on at once.. unfortunately, looking at the lobby I've only seen 90-100 max.

Side questions:

2) Why do you think EE died?
3) Do you consider EE is dead?
4) When do you think the last version of this game will be, when all staff officially stop working on the game and the admins go separate ways?
5) Do you think there will be an EE 2?
6) Would an EE 2 raise the popularity again?
7) What would you want in a 2nd EE?

Same, i'd personally say we need more updates and we can start picking up again. I've already saw an increase from 70-75 on primetimes to 85-90 on primetimes over the past month or so.

Do people seriously consider this game "dead"? Would you consider a person with really bad injuries, but still breathing "dead"?

I do say yes. Here's 3 words: Unity,Mobile,Steam.
And steam can gain so many people's attention also old people's too.
probably like 50 new players will play after unity. I do think it's nothing special.
almost like 300+ new players will play ee after mobile released, if it's opened to app store and google play.

Have the game be from the point of view of the smiley. Since the smiley looks through the fourth wall, all the developers would have to do is create a camera and reflect whatever it sees.

The viewer would be in the same place as you see the character now but you can look around, walk around and explore the map.

Dude no. 6000+ is very very hard to get dude. during back in 2011, there's like 1000-2000 players that playing servers.
and probably somewhere 600+ after mobile. That's all I think.

I'd just say mobile and unity, no way you could get steam. The community wouldn't greenlight it.
