Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Engines, and Master Save points

EE has no real system for enemies, and as the game is progressing forward, and players are becoming more and more creative, players need new features to let the innovative side of the game grow.
Engine blocks would be a good solution to
a) add enemies to the game
b) have moving platforms that don't require an afk player.
How I would envision a engine block is a block that the placer of the block can control how it moves, and add blocks attached to it so it has spikes or is moving pixel art.

Another Idea is Master Save Points. This would be like a block that saves all details of the plays current state (switches pressed, Current Effects, etc.) and stores that until the rejoin.
I know this is far out, and doesn't seem like it would be useful, but it is.
People are making full on new games in EE, with progress, and whenever you leave: your progress is out the window. This is why you can use master save points as a way of saving that progress.

ENGINES: I see how this could be useful and I dont really see any reason why they wont implement it other than storage problems. As of now, a Huge world with music in it didnt save right (idk whose world it was, there was a post about it somewhere on the forums) so im pretty sure having moving parts that you can edit to your liking would make worlds much bigger.

MASTER SAVE POINTS: Same problem with the engines, having to store player data for a while must take a chunk out of their storage, so dont expect these until ee gets on steam, gets billions of players, and makes money for better servers :3

Suggestions like this are why bots are a thing.

Both progress saving and animated stuff can be done by a bot.

One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

how would you save things such as amount of coins collected or switches activated with a bot? also not everyone knows how to use bots

engine blocks could be a good idea but do you expect them to move smoothly or like global switch moving platforms? (teleporting by block)

im afraid it would be a pain in the **** to script this stuff and then fix the bugs for it. what if you accidentally connect the moving platform to a world border? what if you connect a bunch of blocks to two engines and then move them in opposite directions? what if the moving platform runs into something and then starts moving opposite direction, will it stick to that "something" and pull the "something" with itself? its kinda hard to implement, i think it would work better as special moving platforms that can't be used to move static blocks and just move on their own, because i think the "connect any blocks to it and they will move together with the engine" is what makes the implementation much harder

Close, except he qualified his statement with "suggestions like this" -- not all improvements are things that bots can handle, which he accepts in his opening line.

However, there are many things bots cannot handle efficiently, and this is an example of that.

Re: Engines, and Master Save points

For a bot to save all of a player's progress in a world, it would have to be connected the whole time the player was in the world. While feasible, especially if you hosted the bot somewhere so it stayed connected 24/7 (ideally with multiple connections), it would probably be more trouble than it's worth and run into many more problems than EE would, especially as the game can already save player progress in campaigns.

The engine thing will only ever be done by a bot, because EE worlds will always be static. Water won't flow, sand won't fall and clouds won't move because it's not 2D minecraft.

Btw, I never said that EE shouldn't be updated to do things that bots already can.

Re: Engines, and Master Save points

No enemies. Make a bot for it because EE is not going to become and rpg game. If you want to play an rpg game play Life or whatever it's called.

Seen a ton of these suggestions, same response.

Moving platform is a really good suggestion though. I also am interested in this Master save points.

Did you read the topic? So called "enemies" he was talking about are just moving blocks with fire/spikes/lava/portals

Re: Engines, and Master Save points

Ok so it's harder for me to name platformer games without enemies than ones with enemies so I don't think enemies would turn EE into an rpg.
