Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Mid-February 2015 was when the forums were cloned over, and all the existing timestamps went poof. So the last edited date gives a rough estimate of when the post was actually posted

I had given a copy of the posts database to Different55.
The only reason they remain invalid is because he's too lazy to update it.

I mean if you have any good ideas for making sure posts and topics are properly merged with their correct clones I'd love to hear it. Post content, poster, and topic subject won't always be good enough for a definite match. Especially considering that some users have changed names and other users thought it'd be a great idea to delete or modify older posts. Been thinking about trying something similar to gentoo's etc-update where it prompts for user interaction if anything at all is out of place but like you said I'm lazy.

Why not cross reference them with the post id?
You can ignore updating the ones from the past that have recently been modified.

If it was that easy it would be done. Post IDs didn't make the jump along with the dates and whatever else.
EDIT: Why am I getting wooted for being retarded?

You could then delete all of the posts you copied, keep the new posts and then merge the old posts from the database and prefix a 'h' for historical or something similar before the id?
