Although now obsolete due to recent upgrades and additions to the thread creation and management in the forums, the "nub" rank was a temporary group for the sole purposes of giving certain users - with proper authorisation from the forum administrators of course - particular moderation abilities; most commonly for the creation and hence continuation of Forum Games, most notably rounds of Mafia, specifically RhazhBash, Creature and myself, for our respective rounds and interpretations of the forum game that is referred to as "Mafia".

Huh, I thought it was just a way to categorise people with a lot of posts, but doesn't actually give them any privileges. Maybe its purpose changed at some point?

Guardians was just renamed to EE mods. Deleted groups are probably not nubs, movers, and nub. probably not nubs were just users with lots of posts that had reduced flood limits on stuff like reports and posting. movers were supposed to work on gradually moving all topics out of the topic graveyard, but that never happened. since topic owners can lock their own topics now, there was no need for nub either.

Yeah, IMO the graveyard is essentially useless. Back in the good ol days all closed topics were moved there. But that doesn't make much sense. Let's say there's a topic about some room that was closed and tossed away because it was gravedug 3 years later. Alright, sounds good but what if someone wants to find information about that level later? They'd search through the rooms section. They wouldn't find anything, though, because for some reason it's in the graveyard for no apparent reason. The graveyard doesn't really serve any function except to make things harder to find.
