ok ok i got back from vacation super excited to play no man's sky

went onto steam and saw the **** reviews, did some research and apparently its an absolutely **** up

i ignored that and went to download it, but then my computer decides to **** me in the **** sideways and says "hohohoh this game is not supported hohohoh" what the ****

turns out computer was running on 32 bit windows even though it could support 64 bit, so i went and did that

spent a few hours backupping all my ****, spent a few hours doing 32 to 64 bit transferring

downloading a thing from microsoft website, installed it onto usb and rebooted, booted with usb etc etc

instead the usb **** me too and goes into a terrible terrible loop which was:
-startup
-installation process
-oh no, we have to restart to continue
-repeat

it looped for around 3 times until i thought "ok **** this" and just pulled the usb right out of there

that fixed it

now an hour to install 64 bit windows 10 hooray hooray confetti BUT WAIT THERES MORE THE DISPLAY IS **** UP OH MY GOD WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

a few more hours playing with display settings, i could only get to a comfortable size where the taskbar and icons are normal looking but EVERYTHING ELSE IS THE SIZE OF ANTS AAAAHHHHHHH

and the screen is a little squashed so computer tried fixing it by using the magical invention called AA and now it looks like **** my eyes are falling apart and everything is blurry scurry i hate it

i did all this to play a game everyone said was crap

Yeah when I got w10 it was all crappy graphics. I tried updating all my visual drivers and whatnot, tinkering with settings, nothing.

a day later and it's OK. What even

Is it possible to install OS X on a computer without it wiping out everything on the drive? I have my OS X Leopard install disc but idk if it'll riot and eat everything and that'd be kind of bad if it did but I don't have a disc drive anyway so.

RE OSX: I haven't a clue. You already know this, but backing up your drive (imaging it?) would be a good safety measure. IIRC my partitioning for linux mint was butchered, but it was still smart enough not to eat everything. So at least those cinnamon minters know what's up
