To be honest, just asking nicely should be good enough(forum staff confirm or deny?). I didn't have to provide any reason when I switched from Jonathan1003 to AlphaJon, yet the usernames aren't that similar.

ASK A FORUM MODERATOR/ADMIN BECAUSE I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW AN IN-GAME STAFF MEMBER BAR PROCESSOR WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP YOU CHANGE YOUR FORUM NAME
