No but if you're a big enough jerk it's possible for your rep to be forcefully taken away.

Also the current number of characters in titles is fine.

I like reputations, because it gives me anonymity, in a way, to peacefully smite someone if they've triggered me (ooh, look at me. i'm so hip) on the forums. But reps are a privilege on the forums, and to misuse it, could mean, like Different55 stated, you could have your reputation taken away.
