yeah so you're probably sitting on the message received thread? Or is that the GUI one?

either one is a bad idea. Of course, we've also talked about how Threading.Sleep is a bad idea, using a timer instead... but hey whatever

Create a scheduler and add planned messages to it - means that you can keep everything going to happen in one place.
Delegate tasks to specific places when the time comes.
