Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Firefox Smooth Scroll

I can't disable FF's smooth scrolling. I've changed it in the advanced settings, I've turned smooth scrolling off for Windows, I've done something with the user.js and prefs files... nothing works.

I've turned the hardware accel on and off, nothing changes.

I hate it, it's laggy, it glitches out, and it takes forever to scroll a page.

Any suggestions?

I have the newest version of FF, and older version I minds well use IE. It has more support.

The nice people over at microsoft have made it so I can't roll back to W8 //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile
and I don't think this would help at all.

Is there a file or something that handles the smooth scrolling?

^ Yeah, I wanted to roll back to 7 with their "hey if you do so within 30 days we let you go back woo" button

no such ***in button.

"Less support" for what, exactly?
I'm not saying go back to FF 3.1, m8. Ideally there'd be a happy medium.

CSS mostly.

Webkit is kind of important to me.

Re: Firefox Smooth Scroll

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I thought most of webkit stuff was actually the pre-acceptance stuff... so shouldn't we want to not have webkit?

anywho, I'm not suggesting you go back to the dinosaur age.

uhhh idk what that it.
Webkit is used a lot in animations, clipping, masking, and some other useless things. Most browsers support it now, so most people only use it. Firefox just recently started supporting it.

^ indeed, but firefox doesn't need webkit to support that stuff.

Re: Firefox Smooth Scroll

I didn't say it did. But it needs to support webkit attributes.

the problem is that there isn't one. No other browser allows the same level of control. And unfortunately even firefox is leading that behind.

Anyway, jawapa have you seen this yet https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/981140

Re: Firefox Smooth Scroll

yes, neither done anything.

Scrolling lags so hard that instead of scrolling is starts adjusting the zoom.

What specifically do you mean by control?

default firefox
my firefox
and this doesn't show how I've customized my workflow, basically everything is controllable with mouse gestures and the left side of the keyboard, same as blender and the same as the rest of my computer because I think it's a nice way to work. You can't even customize chrome's appearance hardly at all, and its appearance doesn't fit in with any OS or theme.

Well, that's less of a firefox thing and more of a linux thing. Linux has icon packs that work basically the same way as icon packs on android. I'm using the "Super Flat Remix" icon pack.

Doesn't even fit in on a chromebook. The rest of ChromeOS has a minimalist material kind of thing going. Chrome is still sticking it out with the same design it's had since it was born in 2008.

Re: Firefox Smooth Scroll

so... the smooth scroll.

Tried an extention to fix the scrolling. It changed the way things scrolled, but it was really glitchy.

Idk

I ran a different version, I guess, of Firefox or gecko... it was basically firefox with some security stuff. The smooth scroll wasn't an issue with it. I could turn it off, and it was actually off.

Using a touch pad
