Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I think it is pretty good.
But there is a whole topic for Unity Lobby designs.
-YOU really should have posted this there.

(Why do we have a separate topic for this?)
The buttons look flat, having no kind of outlines or shadows. The "simple" GUI kind of clashes with the complicated background right behind it. Some of the things are overly simplified (seriously, why are the energy and gem logos completely grey?). Having the "get gems" on the lobby is a strange choice, considering it would better fit in the shop. The "i" logo looks kind of strange, as it is just an uncapitalized "I" letter with nothing to make it different. The friend list strangely has the "at" capitalized, as well as in green. This makes it oddly stand out, even though the "at" should be brought the least attention to out of everything in the friend list.

You're moving the game to a completely different platform, you cannot stick to the old design.
Look, the game is evolving and the UI can evolve with it. We need a clean, minimal design.
This is what I had in mind:

Wow what did the gems ever do that made you want to bug them?

split off from CJ's topic to try and keep things clean in there.

http://i.imgur.com/CVU42hB.pngJust like I mentioned in the original post, this is a rough draft.
In any case, I strictly believe that we must leave the old elements behind, at least in matters of user interface.
Look, we have a great opportunity here. EE is moving to a new platform. Just like the Nou said before, as far as I can recall, they prefer writing everything from scratch rather than tweaking the existing code.
The current design is cluttered and outdated, and apart from appealing to our eyes, the UI should appeal to the eyes of newcomers as well.
He was talking about the grammar mistake. When it's supposed to say "Buy Gems", it says "Bug Gems".

Dunno why, I feel like this is a lot to take in. Needs a bit more spacing here and there

Are you sure? I think Ben found a nice proportions and doesn't seem cluttered at all to me. If we compare this to Zioxei's, this one is a lot of improvement.

i like it in overall but it lacks plenty of details and improvement
- as others have already pointed out, why the energy and gem icons are gray
- you have enough space to replace "0:00" energy regeneration timer with "More in: 0:00" or something like that
- why is the color of "Everybody Edits" label in top left so gray and monotonous
- the background behind the "Everybody Edits" label is way too dark in comparison to other UI elements
- colors of the "Pending" and "Blocked" buttons at the bottom right could've been brighter to be more noticeable
- what does the orange name of "Beta Boss" world mean?
- the "i" on the right of world list looks too simple
- "35 minutes" in the friend list, why not "played 35 minutes ago"?
- maybe the worlds in the list could have some separations between them? like the way it is in zioxei's version
- "Search world name/ID" how would the search bar know whether you're searching for a world or trying to join a world by it ID?
- add more contrast between the backgrounds of "Friends" header and refresh friend list button
- where did the campaign descriptions go
- bring the "worlds online" and "players online" counters back
- your currently equipped smiley could be displayed next to your name (where it says "Toop" on the screenshots)
- since the UI involves removal of "campaign","open","mine","featured" tags and instead using colored world names, perhaps there could be a legend somewhere explaining what the colors mean
or by hovering mouse over a world with colored name (in the world list) it could for example say "This is a campaign world"

You're Welcome Ben. I am part of the Megatronz and I love the fact that you put our world in. I really like the Idea. It looks so modern than the lobby we got right now but if you guys and gals can remember, the staff said they would make a gold skinned lobby or something like that for GM, so how would that play out?

It signifies that it is a Beta Only world.

I mean, sure it's improvement compared to zioxeis, but I think kentiya's is still the best we have so far

This design is good, but we need to do something with lobby in total. TOO MANY BUTTONS ON ONE SCREEN FOR NEW PLAYERS
Offline
It's all part of the simple, clean design.
simple and clean design is good but when you go too far it becomes ugly
the gray gems and energy icons are just ew
the "i" could have a circle around it or something or it could be a bit larger.. the button is both too simple and too tiny
Of course I have enough space, that is what I was aiming for. But you're missing the point. If I were to fill all that space with legends and unnecessary text, it wouldn't be that spacious anymore.
I believe it would take newcomers 2:30 minutes at the most to figure out what the counter means. Same applies to the friend list.
well the problem with colors of world names could be resolved this way:
or by hovering mouse over a world with colored name (in the world list) it could for example say "This is a campaign world"
it is not just about "figuring out" what the counters mean, writing a full label will make it look nicer
if youre making a modern and simple UI doesnt yet mean you must compress every label you can
Does it really matter? It's not a clickable object anyway..
its the header of the game, ofc it has to stand out and be more colorful
and the bg that is darker than all other bgs causes inconsistency and hurts my ocd
The 'Friends' tab is not clickable, that would make no difference.
thing is i see you tried to make some contrast between bgs of "Friends" header and "refresh friends" button
but the contrast is barely noticeable
so you could either make it more noticeable or remove it at all
ive also noticed another issue: the triangle arrows on the scroll bars. their tips are pushing too much in the direction that is outside from the scrollbar

The style is great but the organization isn't, it feels as clustered as before.
My suggestion would be to remove the transparent and add Something solid such as this:
Chat would be an awesome addition to the game and player lists aswell.
This is the kind of lobby I would like to see in this game, It's clean and easy to understand
