Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

The Next Contest

I think that for the next EE contest, instead of a theme like "Spring" or "Halloween", we should have gameplay-based theme/restrictions, like for example:

-No arrows or dots
-Ice-block based minigames
-Cooperative worlds, with orange switches and key doors
-Having to complete the whole world in one go, instead of seperate minis
-Minis that play music as you play them (note blocks).

1) would result in a lot of boring story levels
2) lag
3) wouldn't work as its nearly impossible to make a level like that that you can't cheat in, people wouldn't have people to play with, people would have to wait when it first comes out, etc
4) like high speed baguette? That could work
5) eh, that doesn't need its own theme, and usually you're either good at music or you're not, so it wouldn't really be fair. If we had a music type contest I think it should be only music, no minis or anything

Those were just examples, those were just ones that I could think of off the top of my head. I am mainly just suggesting that the restrictions would be gameplay based, instead of needing specific art. I feel like this would lead to more diverse minis, instead of just the same old arrow path stuff.  Not saying that's bad, but variety is nice.

Re: The Next Contest

Honestly the next contest should be pretty soon and maybe a more fitting theme.
Idk a summer contest? Summer starts next month and would be a good time for the judges to redeem themselves for the Spring Contest ,,results,,
Make it happen Toop!

Re: The Next Contest

I like this suggestion.

Also, somewhat related, should something be done about certain players always winning contests?
Maybe a contest with just a thumbs up or down, that if your world gets a thumbs up you get the contest smiley.
The competition is usually so fierce that, when I see that certain teams signed up, I feel my chance of winning is approximately 0%.
Chance of winning, as in, any kind of winner. Chance to get first place is negligible, even if minimap art is irrelevant.

I have permanently left the game and forum.
EE is an entertaining game and I enjoyed playing it...
...but it's time for me to move on.

Re: The Next Contest

Maybe for the next contest. Let the users vote.

No more, I is not fair, they got staff, etc. I know, it would have to be made but it doesnt seem that impossible to me.

You could than just call it, community campaign or whatever.

Re: The Next Contest

My general suggestions for the next contest:

Difficulty: not hard
Theme has to be included the most, but not being the only possibility
No changing rules after the registration
Set a world size, because in the end you never care much about a nice smaller world. At least tell that world size makes a difference in the voting.
Give the judges more time, so they won't judge in a bad mood or rush
Block the chat in the evaluating period.
Make teams by number and do not give any info on team members.
Create new mechanics, that don't show the registered contest world in the lobby and only lets registered team members enter in the building process, no matter the set options
