Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hey, I recently updated from XP to Win 10, (big fan of XP here)
Well, what do you think about it if you updated, do you like it or not? any advantages and disadvantages for you?
To me at least for now, it seems like a giant maze and apparently there are big issues with sound quality from Realtek. Other than that, I kinda like it, it takes less resources than win 7, which is great!

It's 10/10.
Realtek works fine for me.
I have never thought of programming for reputation and honor. What I have in my heart must come out. That is the reason why I code.

Advantages in my experience:
- It looks nicer
- You don't have to focus on a window to scroll on it
Other than that it has pretty much just been Win 7 for me so I don't see a reason not to update.

I used Windows 10 for a total of one day out of the ten or so I had it installed on my Surface.
It's a'ight. I think the taskbar looks quite silly, tbh, with the Cortana searchbar always there right next to the start menu. I think there could be a better way of doing that.
It's got a pretty boring theme by default, too. Can you make the taskbar and window borders colorful like you could in Windows 8?
I hate tall signatures.

I installed it, removed it 20 minutes later.
They hype it to be more than I found it to be.
It's not very touch screen friendly.
My desktop icon size was so wonky. I could either have really tiny, or insanely large.
I prefer windows 8
Where dahell is windows 9?

My friend's Windows 10 was fine until an automatic update which left her completely without wifi compatability.
So, I use Windows 8

I'm not sure , but 9 was a bad number for win system
Because in search there were a lot of 95, 98 files instead of just 9

10/10? wow! Microsoft didn't get that much lately.
Well you're very lucky about Realtek if it works, everyone else is freaking out about this problem hoping it will get fixed ASAP.

I agree, it does look nicer to a certain degree. Well, I guess sooner or later the update is inevitable, the sooner the better, right?

There is a way to unistall Cortana if you want, I have no idea how. Yeah, the theme is boring, so is the huge list of **** at the start menu.
Haha, couldn't agree more! that task bar, hate it! I still have no idea how the heck to change certain things like the freaking colour, first looked for a totorial on google, I found like two pages of instructions just for that, after two minutes of reading gibberish I went to my bed sucking my finger crying.
Yeah supposedly you can change colors and stuff, how? ask NASA!

Windows 10, because 7 8 9.
Well, yeah hype it like everything else these days, I guess in the future they will work on these problems, maybe you'll give it another chance later (5 years or so, lol) tbh never tried win 8 but if it does the trick for now, why not? Idk, maybe they wanted to add to win 10 a special place in history, making it appear more advanced than it is. It makes it not since you need 5 miles tutorials just to change something like the task bar color!

We do not talk about Windows 9.
We just did. I feel nasty.

I've seen other users having problems with automatic updates too, it can be frustrating and I think the problem with my sound might be just from that.

Everything is fine for me except for the issues with these darned "networking protocols" and my connection in general. Doesn't seem to be only on my end; it's all over the internet.

It works fine for me, but Microsoft is being a total nub with it.

Even on the Enterprise version with everything turned off like Microsoft said, it still phones home.

Don't know much about these issues for now.

This is really interesting, you made me have second thoughts I don't have time to read all that now but I'll check it again later.

Major gravedig, but now I have information to share.
Some idiot "accidentally" started the w10 update last night. Way to go. I'm not particularly impressed, but I've just been busy trying to figure out what broke and cry over the graphics card. *tear*
I guess it isn't all that bad. But still, I'm not a fan.

you sure it didnt start itself? some people have been complaining about windows updating without giving permision
if you can read this....good for you

It'll schedule an update for you eventually. I was notified I had a scheduled update so I disabled it.
I still prefer Ubuntu.

and I still haven't found a graphics driver solution. :\
I still prefer Ubuntu.
One thing this episode taught me: I need to find a driver for my ubuntu mint dualboot thing. I thought that was just inherently bad graphics, but apparently both OSes crapped out, so...

Just like Windows 8, the interface on Windows 10 looks bland. As much as I like colourful graphics, this looks like overly simple, single-shaded perfect rectangles that could be easily recreated in an image editor. I think Windows should just stay away from the trendy "minimalist" style until they can find a way to make it look better than that.

It's nice enough as an OS, but it's seriously questionable that Microsoft is trying to turn it into an advertising platform. Have you noticed your advertising ID in one out of the two (for some reason) control panels? I don't like how they're jamming it down people's throats by automatically upgrading people to it without their consent. I keep it around just in case I run into a Windows-only program that WINE doesn't like. I wouldn't completely uninstall it since I did pay for it, but upgrading from XP to 10 made me start using Linux as my main OS again. Probably didn't help that as far as I can find, drivers aren't available for my Wifi card under Windows 10, while it works on Linux OOTB.

Not a operating system for you if you want keep your privacy and personal stuff private.
I use "GWX Control Panel" on Windows 7. It will ignore Windows 10 popups and automatic installations/downloading.

I hate how it insists on linking the OS to cloud services. I know that's how they're planning on actually monetizing the OS, but it makes me upset. That's why I use Linux on my home computer.
