At least they're being upfront about it by saying that GM is for supporting the game only, pretty much. I don't see it as any different from the donate button hidden behind the ads here except you get a few smilies and blocks as a thank you for donating to the game. Builder's Club was an actual service. If you didn't want to didn't want to didn't years getting enough coin doors or whatever, you had to buy a BC subscription.
