Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Yeah, that's really weird. Where'd pingo's post go?
His post was #582072 but it's missing.

The post doesn't even exist in the database anymore. The post itself was deleted but it a couldn't have been through the forums because the topic info wasn't updated and the topic wasn't deleted either. Everything in the database acts like pingo's post still exists. I'm going to go through some backups to see if I can figure out when this happened and I'll keep going through server logs to try to figure out how and why this happened, and whether or not this has happened to other posts.

Think I found what's up. Server ran out of space and the second that happened MySQL started spewing errors all over the place. Fortunately, it looks like pingo lost the lottery and his was the only post affected. I'll be restoring it from a backup and clearing out old error logs that are taking up gigabytes of space. With error logs this huge I thought I'd find something interesting and important to fix but no it's just 404 errors from browsers trying to access files that don't exist, like /wp, /blog, /phpMyAdmin, /admin, and /old, but most of the logspam is just iDevices looking for 3 different versions of /apple-touch-icon.png and finding none of them.
But yeah, just one post was lost and I'm hoping it was pingos.

legit sleuthing. the torrent of 404's does seem like there's a leaking pipe somewhere, but hey, it still runs. :b

Well, most of it isn't really anything I can fix besides creating empty files so that browsers and bots that go looking for stuff don't generate all these 404s, which I've done for the biggest offenders. I haven't really worried about it before because this leaking pipe didn't affect anything unless you happened to be standing directly under it looking through logs for other reasons but that appears to have been a bad idea.
