Socially, it seems we as people like to fixate on these "memes" and this debate really should consider the entirety of what makes a meme stick... but you didn't make that the focus, so meh.

I'm not partial to the content; as we all know, it's a fad.

The exact traits an idea needs to go viral, on the other hand, no one knows for sure... the instant a void for "damn daniel (e.g.)" is filled, you won't get the same response again.

^He missed his own point. The in-joke, or "in-group" associations are what probably keep memes like this going... that's just about all that's relevant from that video. The rest is him channeling his want to be popular in the form of making jabs at the meme itself.
