Uh, just realised there's no Forum Suggestion subforum, so I'm just going to post it here.

So this has probably been suggested before many times but yeah I think forumers being able to see edit history would be cool

Yeah, long ago Forum Suggestions and Forum Discussion were merged because neither of them were very active.

I always thought that the forums just added the "last edited by" text into the post directly
which would be a frown on programming somewhere I'm sure
but I just thought that, idk why

Do you mean like seeing a history of every time the post was edited? If so, that kind of defeats the purpose of editing if you can just see what the post was before

StackOverflow, MediaWiki and some other more serious sites also show history logs. You're right about the fact that it is probably overkill to implement it on these forums.
