Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hello forum users,
I'm here to make a suggestion for the Game Suggestions category/forum threads (only for Game Suggestions threads). I'm sure you already have openned the spoilers and got what I mean, so I will try to explain here if you have understanded it wrong or still don't know what is it. Game suggestions threads basically should have something for voting good or bad, not only a woot button. But, a Like and Dislike button, so it makes everything easy to see if everyone likes the suggestions or not.
Well, this is one of the reasons for a like and dislike button for the Game Suggestions threads. I hope you agree with it because it's cool and better. I did 2 versions (Version 2 can be turned to down the likes) and you can choose who is better here.

That is exactly what woots are for though, if you dislike it, you should have a reason, thus you actually post why you think it is a bad idea.

If you don't like the idea, don't check it. No need for dislike, it will just bring hate.

People dont like dislikes for a reason
If you dislike post - ignore it, no need to be bad for somebody

I don't think it does.
Well, you guys haven't understanded my point. That's ok. Can close now :/
Just saying I wasted my time doing it perfectly well and I thought everyone was gonna like it. And no, it wont bring any hate. I just wanted it because can make everything easier to see if someone liked it or not.

I agree with you in the fact people can post the reason of don't liking the suggestion, so then there could be just a like button Idk.

I like the idea but not how it would be implemented, also I think admins would look through a post to see if people do or don't like it to see if there are any additions, changes or improvements.
You could have non-anonymous voting, see who has said yes or no and you have to supply some sort of valid answer either way.
Thank you eleizibeth ^
I stack my signatures rather than delete them so I don't lose them

if we're going to have it then for all of the forums, not just game suggestions
easier to implement because i dont think forums engine allows you to change the functionality in a specific subforum without digging into the engine itself
but still

i agree, the dislikes are very likely to bring unneccessary anger. if you dont like a post just dont woot it

or just make a counter - When you like the counter adds +1 when you dislikes -1 - then you dont see whol diusliked (but there are 95% that gosha (YOU!) disliked)
Like this:
Woot count: -5
If people woot a suggestion and there are no objections from users (and the staff), there is little to no reason not to add it. If people disagree, however, there is an actual reason behind it that needs to be looked into. I think this will discourage posting criticism, which kind of ruins the point of having a forum. It would be less of a constructive discussion on which ideas fit well into the game than it is a "like/dislike battle" which was one of the main problems with the reputation system.
Woots are fine, because posting "I like this." is not very useful information and adds little to the topic. If one dislikes an idea, however, that user should either ignore the topic (if it is not worth their time) or otherwise post why they dislike the idea.
