if a friend comes online, this should show up
(btw Testforum1 is the account name i use if i make a graphic suggestion with names)

Cool idea man, but I think it's a bit too intrusive. Maybe if it appears on the bottom right/left it may be better

I think it'd be useful if you could mark someone so the first time they go online as you are online you see the notification; I would have constant notification spam with the method you are showing.

I have not showed any hate, I was replying to your hate and it might have looked like hate from me - the idea is so good that someone else has mentioned it before, the graphics also look like they would be in game (but as you only get online messages then the name doesn't have to be green)

The notification should just say that the person is online without text if they go straight to the lobby then say the world name if they go to a world

Edit: we should be able to view a friends list from within a world and send PMs to each other in different rooms.
