Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Anxiety

Everyone goes through anxiety. Ever get that heart-flipping adrenaline rush before a school presentation? That's anxiety.

However, I, and many others, suffer from chronic anxiety. It is absolutely horrible. You feel like you're gonna die any moment and it makes you nervous ALL the time. It comes and goes, and when chronic anxiety attacks hit, effects last for around an hour.

Anyone have chronic anxiety?

Re: Anxiety

Well, I'm sure I have this because my heart starts flipping every moment I will do something because I want to make it faster or I don't know what is it. I just discovered it yearstarday and now I know I'm right about it because I thought this was just me.

I maybe go to see a doctor or idk if there is something we can fix it. It is really bad, mate //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/sad

Re: Anxiety

I have social anxiety. Sometimes I have it online too, I have nights I cant sleep just because I think I said something stupid to someone online. Even tho I know that person will probably forget it after an hour.

Pm me with anything math related please

Yeah same here. It's not fun mulling over one possibly embarrassing thing you've said for like a whole week.

Re: Anxiety

I'm not sure banging your head on a wall for a week because you said something incredibly stupid is an accurate sign of chronic anxiety because I definitely have done that and I definitely don't have chronic anxiety.

Also pls2not self diagnose, if you think you have issues see a doctor where you might actually be able to deal with whatever it is isntead of just ""dealing"" with it yourself.

Well I mean you think it'd be obvious but then Poe's law happens.

Re: Anxiety

lol me
Not to get too much into my problems but it doesn't really come and go for me, it's just like a constant state of anxiety any time I have to do anything. Even fun things like just hanging out with friends makes it hard to focus on anything else beforehand. Over the years I've learned to deal with it more and more and to cover it up, but there's still basic stuff I can't do easily.

My thing is though, I've seen TOO many people use it as a crutch, so they don't have to do the things that make them anxious. This is unnaceptable to me. I don't want it to define me or stop me from doing what I want to do, ya know?

What sucks is that any time I try to talk to friends about it, they think I'm exaggerating, or making it up. Oh well.

Re: Anxiety

My anxiety began back in December and hasn't left me to this day. I had a panic attack due to numerous heart palpitations/heart skips for reasons unknown - could've been my chest muscle twitching but who knows. Anyway, after that incident I've been paranoid and anxious about my heart / health and I still am. Whenever my heart skips a beat (it does less than 10 times daily), I can feel it. I get anxious as a result, and hope I don't have serious problems such as heart arrythmia (which increases stroke chance by 5 times if left uncontrolled).

Re: Anxiety

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's normal. Kinda panic-inducing when it happens but 10 seconds later it passes, right?

Yeah. I think that stress/anxiety is the reason for my palpitations. When I got a panic attack in December, it was hot and I was stressed out, which could've caused it. I *could* have Afib or Af, though I hope I don't since that would require catheter ablation to permanently fix it (look that up). Good news is that afib and af are really uncommon / rare for my age, but underlying heart conditions could cause that. My dad had arrythmia and has a pacemaker at the moment, so if there is any relevance to arrythmia and family genetics, I'm out of luck. I'll see as time goes by.

I also had an EKG done a month ago and it came back fine. But me just being paranoid, I could have paroxysmal afib (comes and goes) which can later become constant afib, which is the dangerous type that increases stroke risk. Basically, your upper heart quivers like Jell-O during afib. Pretty unsettling for me... ARGH #anxiety
