So uh, basically you're saying give up or don't?
If the people decide to extinct themselves, that roughly means they've given up (because they don't want to look after the earth anymore or something). I don't think the problem is humans as a whole, it's the subset of humans which damage the earth. There are more eco-friendly alternatives to carrying out daily tasks, its just that people are not putting in effort to do it (man I really do sound like a hypocrite now).

I believe humans are amazing, and mean more than a beautiful planet. The ability to think, feel, communicate etc is just amazing. And I want as many people as possible to feel that amazingness. I know the more people there are the less that feeling is. Thats why I adore Elon Musk's mission to colonize Mars.
Ofcourse this doesn't mean I believe we can ruin earth because the Earth isn't important. The Earth is a beautiful planet we should be careful with. Because the Earth is one of the most important influences to our happiness, it shows us all these beautiful forms of life. We also need earth for us to survive ofcourse.
